Motley crew now all in place. 36 hours to go to find excuse not to. Looked at google earth to check location of Barbados...or was it St Lucia. Decided after conversation with our navigator (me) simply to follow another boat. Our neighbour has kindly agreed to lay down a piece of string as they go for our emergency backup so we can follow it. Navigator says that's sensible. He always does. A truly remarkable man. Dinner in marina tonight...steak still mooing and tuna still gawping off plate in state of surprise ... sent them both back for bit more heat treatment.
Keep telling myself that all this is no more than a slightly lengthier trip from Gosport to Cowes...having trouble believing myself though. Need to return gate passes for marina and reclaim my 20 euros. My number two said we should do it on the way to St Lucia but I feel 200 yards to marina zoo, sorry, office is bit soon for first stop. Besides I'm not very welcome in there ...
