Sun/Mon.  Followed Compass Rose out of the Exe on the morning tide with new young crew, Josh Spencer, Adam Butt and Georgi Hingley.  Quite misty along the coast to Start Point then a mixture of sun and clouds. Lightish winds coupled with a big slow Atlantic swell made it “interesting” for the new crew. Luckily nobody succumbed to a Technicolour Yawn!  Overnight we went into a rotating watch system with 90 mins standby followed by 90 mins on watch then 3 hours sleep.  Lots of AIS and radar activity as we crossed the shipping channels kept the crew busy.  Nice sunny passage through the Chenal du Four and into Camaret at 2pm after 30 hours and 173 miles.  This was the crews first channel crossing, so ashore for late lunch to celebrate.
