Saturday.  Quick explore of Sandhamn and a visit to the island bakery.  Lovely traditional painted timber houses and rickety timber jetties, flowers and blossom everywhere.  Stunning, will have to come back with our next guests.  Five hour motor-sail through the archipeligo to the centre of Stockholm, quite misty at first, then sunny. The summer holidays have started in Sweden, so there are boats everywhere, mostly Swedish, but lots of German, Finnish and Danish boats as well as the odd Dutch, Norwegian, Estonian, Polish and English boats. I have yet to see a French or Belgian boat though.
Moored up in the Vasa Marina, right in the heart of the city and then took a walk past the royal palace into the old historic part of the city (Gamle Stan) and then caught a ferry back to the marina.

Sunday.  Boys off on a cycle ride round the island (Stockholm is built on 14 interconnected islands), then a big farewell lunch for Niels, Jonas and Ed who were flying out in the afternoon. After seeing the boys off at the station, we did a big cycle ride with Rob around the waterways of the city. Impressive system of cycle tracks and lovely to get away from the main tourist attractions and see a different aspect of the city.

Monday:  Rob off early to the airport for his flight to New York and now we have a few days quiet time pootling around the city until our next guests arrive. Lovely sunny shorts and t-shirt weather.
