Tuesday. 6am start by Chris and Jan to get some miles in. Sun came out at 11am, so a quick stop for the boys from Norway to have a traditional morning dip (Morgen Bad) in 13 degrees! Fantastic island scenery with lots of bird life. Saw two massive White Tailed Eagles being mobbed by terns on a small rock and then fly right over Astra still being chased by the terns. After clocking up 56 miles we anchored in a lovely bay tucked in behind the island of Bano-On. Sunny BBQ on back deck with the Spag Bog mince converted into tasty beefburgers.
Wednesday. Another early start for the final 30 mile hop to Mariehamn, the capital of the Aland Islands, where Chris and Jane leave Astra for a couple of nights in an hotel, ferry to Turku and flight home on Saturday. Waiting now for the strong Northwesterly winds to ease before heading across to Norrtalje in Sweden, around 40 miles, to pick up Rob and Ed tomorrow.
