Wed evening. Steve and Veronica arrive on-board at 19.30 after flying in
from Heathrow. Given a one hour lightning tour of the Stockholm highlights on
the Brompton bikes, whilst Lucy and Richard prepared supper.
Thurs. Lovely sunny day with light winds. Sent Steve and Veronica off to
the Vasa Museum as it opened at 08.30 and then at midday set off out into the
archipelago again to start our slow return journey southwards. Found another
lovely wild anchorage in an enclosed bay on AGNO island. The water was
surprisingly warm at 19 degrees, so we were straight in for a swim, except for
Veronica who needed a lot of coaxing, but then stayed in for ages. Later we
went ashore by dinghy for a walk and picked loads of wild blueberries on the
hillside. Sunny BBQ on back deck with blueberries for pudding.
Fri. Mixed sun and cloud day. Breakfast on the move after a “Morgen Bad”.
Found a small general store with a pontoon. Got some essential supplies like 42
big cans of beer! Nice one Steve! Found another lovely sheltered bay on
Fjardlang and moored to the granite rocks Swedish style. Later we lit the
barbie on the rocks and spoilt ourselves with some rather expensive fat sirloin
steaks.
Sat. Another sunny morning spent swimming and lazing on the rocks. Set off
after a “Full English” brunch and arrived in Nynashamn Marina at 4pm. The train
station is right beside the marina and trains leave every hour for Stockholm.
Into the town for food shopping, then Gin & Tonics and farewell meal on
board for Lucy and Richard.
Sun. Heavy rain! Lucy and Richard off by train at 10am, whilst we headed
off in the gloom to do another hop southwards.
