The Rainforest Hideaway lived up to our remembered expectations as absolutely superb.  An interesting and varied menu using locally sourced food prepared in a sophisticated way, beautifully presented dishes that tasted divine, just delicious from start to end.  Us three girls had the sea bass which was wonderfully moist and delicately flavoured.  Puddings were equally incredible and Bob declared his creme brulee perfect, and he is very fussy about this favourite of his, quite the aficionado.  We returned to the boat and continued the party.  Susie and Bob sensibly went to bed at a very respectable time but Sara and I stayed up far too late putting the world to rights over the remains of the gin.  Oops.  Fortunately I have already forgotten most of the drivel we were spouting which is probably a very good thing.
I was woken this morning with a welcome black coffee by a far too cheerful Sara.  We spent a quiet morning noses in Kindles, plopping in for a swim and enjoying the sunshine and the lovely location that is Marigot Bay.  We couldn’t put it off any longer so headed out for our very last sail of the holiday.  The wind was perfect, not too strong, not too weak and we bowled along nicely over a kind sea.  The wind, as ever, drifted around and we decided to hand steer for the pure fun of it, Sara taking her turn at the helm and Bob on the main sheet.  It was a lovely sail and we sailed the boat rather than the course and ended up drifting away from Rodney Bay.  We could have gone on and tacked back but time was running short so we resorted to the motor and chugged in.  We parked up, “needed a bit more flaring there Elizabeth”, but it wasn’t bad really, tied up and stopped engines for the last time.  We are now starting on all the chores that need to be done to prepare Windy for hibernation but are going out tonight to Cap Maison for a grande finale gala dinner to keep our spirits up as we are all feeling a bit “going back to school”ish.
