Wind Charger
Bob and Elizabeth Frearson

Oh my god, now this really does take the ships biscuit.  The generator (affectionately known as Gerry) has just come to a grinding halt mid charge cycle.  He has been slurring and threatening to stop for some hours now and has just given up the ghost.  Bob is currently mid gybe and won’t be a happy bunny at all particularly as he changed the fuel filter this morning very sweatily in the hope of making things better.  He even made me read “all about battery charging” so that I could comment more intelligently when discussing this seemingly endless tale of woe.  My intelligent comments have only served to add fuel to the fire so far.
We continue to potter along quite happily but are feeling a trifle uncomfortable now that we have Bandit, Moonstone  and Innamorata on our tails (with 4 French boats coming up behind).  We don’t want it to be a race, hence our choice of crossing outside the ARC,  but it is very difficult to ignore that little niggling feeling that you want to stay that little bit ahead.
I had better go now and soothe the skipper’s sweaty brow.
