We made an early start, and thank heavens we did, despite the weather files diligently downloaded the wind appeared to be completely on our nose.  We moved off the wind to try and make progress but were still only making a paltry 4.5 knots, except when the log decided to stop working when it appeared we were going at zero, so in despair of ever getting to Montserrat in daylight we resorted to motoring.  It ended up as rather a choppy ride and the new crew fared reasonably well, Francesca was very comfortable on her side of the sun deck but Katie suddenly found herself slipping inexorably towards the sea on hers as we heeled over, Pop won the chunder challenge and Stuart turned an even paler shade of white, Cook managed to get together wraps for lunch but didn’t want to spend too much time downstairs, Bob valiantly showed the green crew the ropes.
We arrived in Little Bay at 4:30pm which gave Pop, Francesca and Stuart time to swim ashore and check out what was happening on the beach before swimming back into the sunset to report back.  It transpires that we have arrived in time for the New Year festival, Battle of the Calypso bands tonight apparently and we are anticipating a New Year’s Eve to the sound of reggae.
