We were all geed up to go racing, a traditional event, as declared boldly on the What to do On Nevis website.  Unfortunately it turned out to be a false start and when all of us, and at least 5 other vehicles with eager looking Caucasians, descended on the idyllic spot with mini grandstand with background of turquoise sea and rolling waves there was not a start to be seen.  I managed to cuddle a gorgeous three year thoroughbred with the most amazing thoroughbred feet I have ever seen, the amount of sunshine apparently before being dragged away to admire the 6 mile hill that the Princesses had endured on Christmas Eve on their bicycles.  Hey ho, ho, ho not to worry, the Princesses and the Frearsons son’s family headed for the beach and whiled away a happy few hours while Bob and I sat like old fogeys reading our Kindles very happily.
Fajitas tonight, thank you Pop and Francesca, accompanied by champagne to celebrate anything we can think of whether Dolley’s brother Will’s newly announced engagement to Christine or just because we are having a great time.
Happy families!
