We left Dartmouth and immediately met a very rolly sea giving us a chance to check the stability of our stowage and remedy such irritations as chattering glasses.  It wasn’t a very vigorous shake up but we can at least reduce the likelihood of missiles and things that go bump in the night.  The sea and the wind then decided to give up entirely so we ended up motoring to Plymouth over a glassy sea encased in a light mist.
Once in Plymouth we managed to berth at Queen Anne’s Battery after executing the tightest of turns both into our row and then into our berth with much clenching of buttocks and gritting of teeth.  We then welcomed Katie and Stuart on board for pre-dinner drinks and a catch up on news before heading to the Barbican area for a deliciously fishy dinner and a lovely relaxing evening.
Today has been spent combing the streets of Plymouth for a sink plug (which has proved impossible to track down in old boat size) , topping up the fridge, buying the things that we had forgotten or left behind (Dartmouth only had yummy mummy shops which was hopeless) and having a domestic spruce up ready to welcome the crew and be ready to set sail tomorrow.
There is something rather historic about leaving for our trip just yards from the Mayflower steps.
