Here we are again.

Wind Charger
Bob and Elizabeth Frearson

It is FANTASTIC to be back on Wind Charger, sitting back, gin and tonic in hand after the relentless rain and Bob’s worst ever harvest on the farm.  Ulrich, who looks after the boat for us (with his staff) has done a fantastic job and Windy is back in the water, looking very shiny inside and out.
We arrived yesterday after a reasonably good flight, except we could have done without the dying child who coughed his lungs up for seven hours, to be met by torrential rain but hot, hot, hot (30 degrees).  This morning dawned pretty much the same and lashed down in bucketing showers while we were busy nesting.  This afternoon has been fabulous, sitting in the cockpit, the sun beaming down and the relaxation seeping into our bones. The marina is very very busy as the ARC boats trickle in from Las Palmas.  Some are greeted with great hoots from the foghorns of fellow crews, others just creep in and park up without fuss.  The restaurants are full of crews in matching shirts loudly competing with their yarns. They are expecting about 220 boats in all and we are not sure where they are going to park them all.  The Marina Office was very relieved to hear that we were heading off on Sunday for a few weeks.  We will keep you posted.
