Wind Charger

That’s better, a cracking sail from Dominica across an Atlantic exposed area between the islands so plenty, plenty of wind!  We arrived in St Pierre at a sensible hour for lunch and then have spent an interesting afternoon investigating the volcanic eruption of 1902 which simply wiped out the whole place melting the church bells like chocolate.  It is bizarre to see the before and after pictures. The town has been rebuilt, half the size, and there are still burnt bits of wall lurking around incorporated into new buildings.
We’ve been watching a colourful sunset with a beer in one hand.  No green flash seen yet but the magical sight of a turtle meandering by the boat more than makes up for it.
We’ve had more fun with the outboard.  With the missing gear lever, finger wiggling has been used to change gear but despite lots of tickling it wouldn’t play today.  Bob investigated and is pretty sure that Joe must have dropped it rather heftily when it was in his tender care.  A new screw has miraculously appeared where a catch used to be!  At least it steals the limelight from Gerry who is still puttering along quite nicely with his two way catheter.  Hopefully we will nurse the outboard until we reach St Lucia tomorrow but I suspect that it will then (in the words of Never Let me Go) complete.
Well, off to supper (she says cheerily because it is at a civilised hour, thank heavens) so must go.
