There is something very worrying about rushing back to see what has happened to your “baby” when soon after leaving it at Christmas you are told that it “has sunk”. It is the first chance we have had to get our hands on poor Windy but are very impressed how Team Ulrich set to and pumped out the ingressing water that siphoned itself in from the loo and filled the saloon knee deep with foul water obliterating every electrical thing in its path, Ulrich’s amazing team removing all the floating objects to the sanctuary of the container by the rubbish bins.
You have to  be resolved to the fact that it is actually a half full scenario and all the copper wiring has now been replaced with sea friendly tin sheathed wire which can only be a good thing.  We also have new batteries that I really can’t help thinking could have done with replacement before crossing the Atlantic but that may be just me!  The plan is to stow way ever thing that was rescued from the great flood, go through every tool, smear each and every one in silicon spray before carefully placing it in its home as defined on the “anal” list.  I quote here from the lovely man Chris who has restored all the electrics who can’t quite believe that we have recorded the location of every item but hey that is Bob and I.
So here we are immersed in beautiful sun shine and heat and revelling in our Caribbean dream.  Still lots of sorting and damage limitation to do but we are getting there.  The duty free gin and tonic is hitting the spot as we listen to our latest playlist and we are gloriously happy to be in the sunshine!
