"13th June Day 1 Azores - Falmouth"

We are on our way on another leg of our adventure!  We left Faial this morning at about 11am having checked the latest GRIB file once again.  Some people who had planned to leave today have changed their minds because of the lows coming from the north west.  We think that we will be clear of them as they come through, but if we have got it wrong we will just have to take what comes, under small sails!  Certainly the start of our passage has been grand.  We have had about 15 knots of wind from astern of us, blue skies and following blue seas and have progressed from between 5-7kts, so we are not complaining.  We are actually on port tack which makes a complete change from the usual starboard!

We have left the islands behind us now and prepared the sails for the night with two reefs in the main and a small headsail and are rolling along gently at about 5-6kts, on course for Falmouth!

All is well.
