Simpsons Bay Marina, St Maarten" - 15th April

We have had an enjoyable day.  We took the bus into Philipsburg to meet up with friends, David & Sylvia, from the Walton & Frinton Yacht Club who are enjoying a cruise on the Black Watch Cruise Liner.  It was great fun to catch up on news from the club over lunch and to tell them about our travels.  It made home seem not quite so far away.  It was amazing to hear of their rough sea passage from Southampton the Madeira, it made our rough sea passages pale  into insignificance.  I could not imagine being on the third deck and having the tops of the  waves visibly pass by the cabin window, I thought that only happened on yachts when heeled over!

After we said farewell, we set about the few final tasks in preparation for our departure to Bermuda tomorrow.  Whilst on our way to Customs to 'clear out' we bumped into one of the young Norwegian lads, whom we first met in St Lucia and then met again whilst in Dominica.  They have managed to sell their boat and are flying back to Norway tomorrow, to complete their medical studies etc.

We then returned to Whisper and were just about to haul Rustle up on deck when we saw a young couple, whom we first met in Madeira coming towards us in their dinghy.  We had also met them briefly in Dominica when they were passing by and had hoped to meet them in Antigua but had missed each other.  They came on board and we exchanged news about our individual trips so far and their future plans for the season etc.  They are hoping to get work on one of the super yachts and eventually to go through Panama and circumnavigate.  How wonderful to be so young and free.  We wish them well in their travels and in their seek of work and hope that our paths will cross again one day.

We are all set to leave in the morning - the start of another leg of our adventure!
