All is well, we are on course and heading east to avoid getting too tangled in the storm which is coming down from the north and heading towards Bermuda.

Yesterday, when we left Bermuda we shook the reef out of the mainsail but put it back in before it got dark.  We did this to avoid any deck work later on in the dark should it become necessary. This activity proved the point that Whisper and Windy Bill work much better together with a reef in.  During the day we had been making 5-6 knots but with the main reefed  the sails are more balanced and during the night we have been making 6.5- 7.3 knots with the same wind strength.

Our calculations show that in 2hrs time we will have covered 140nm during our first 24hrs which is excellent progress for us.

It was a completely new experience last night to watch the sun set behind our stern and to see darkness heading towards us and even more so to find myself dazzled by the rising sun on our bow this morning.  We most definitely are on our way home!
