Well that was a hell of a week. But here I am right back on track. I had
planned to be in Thailand now aboard Rhiann Marie with Trish and friend
Mairi and ready to recieve our next guests today.

On arriving off the two air Malaysia flights from Penang via Kuala Lumpur
to Phuket I was well looked after and the whole journey went very
smoothly. As I am clearly becoming very soft I allowed myself to be pushed
by wheelchair to and from the planes.

This reminds of of when I wrecked my knee skiing one year and was
travelling back from Austria (with DVT forming unbeknown to me...)I was
persuaded by my family to sit in the wheelchair as the walks between gates
was a long way. There I was with one dodgy leg braced up and strapped out
horizontally in front of me at security when a young woman who had one leg
and one stump overtook me on crutches. Despite taking off out of the
wheelchair like an Olympic sprinter I still feel the embarassment to this
day!

So this time while not wishing to cause any further damage to my screwed
up back I intend to push as hard as I can.

Last night I cancelled the room ashore and stayed aboard Rhiann Marie. It
was perfect and better than any hotel or hospital room and have decided to
move back aboard. I accept it is a niche market but I believe the
Discovery 67 is a perfect spinal injury recuperation facility!

In the next few days providing the weather is benign I will take Rhiann
Marie out and anchor off a couple of islands to see how I get on. Don't
worry I will use the electric winches and windlass.

We'll get some photos to you soon but the photo of my wound has had to be
censored as it will make you sick.

The other thing is that the press have been lifting images and copy
content from this blog and you will think I have been feeding these type
of sensational images to the papers!

For any press reading this I have prepared a series of press releases
covering the reason for doing the trip, a travelog to date and a peice
covering the accident. If any of you wish this copy, or wish any further
information and accompanying images please send an e-mail to
info {CHANGE TO AT} gaelforce {DOT} net and we will be happy to oblige
