We are anchored outside Telaga harbour in very shallow water and we are surrounded by squid boats and the distant but invisible horizon is polka dotted with a long row of very brightly lit squid boats.

These small boats have a series of full size domestic flood lights run off a generator and shining over the side of the boat into the water. It is a mysterious almost alien sight to see!

When I left you last we had blasted back round to the south side of Langkawi to get a few more jobs done which we did.

I also had another thing to do which was take the girls that had taken us to the Indian wedding out for a meal. Unfortunately Trish was not well so she decided to give it a miss, but a date is a date and I took all our new found friends out together.

We had a great meal at the legendary Wonderland Food Store restaurant which must serve some of the best food I have ever tasted. Yes - ever tasted! The large round table was completely covered in dishes, I had asked the boss, Alin to order for us all. The bill for all six of us, all in cost a total of £28. We celebrated after with a visit to the KTV centre. Yep, for those of you not used to travelling in the far east that's Karoke TV. Watching these wannabe rock and pop starts perform and yes, Ok, joining in with one or two numbers myself was a blast and we all enjoyed ourselves. This is not the alcohol fuelled Karoke we have in the UK - you get your own room the whole fancy computer and sound system with giant flat screen TV and comfy couches etc. It was actually great fun and it was good to return some hospitality and kindness for that shown to us.

The following day we sailed off West down the channel at 8 - 9 knots with 18 knots following breeze. We sailed off our anchor and upto our new anchorage just off the stunning beaches of Pantai Cenang.

We met some Dutch cruisers there and we spent Sunday afternoon ashore together watching Andy Murray getting whitewashed and me losing the big money bet (ok, a few Ringit) we had made with Bluefin.

Sunday night we picked up our friend Mairi and Monday we moved to where we are now. We had a fiesty, but enjoyable sail over and spent the afternoon at the top of the mountains on the Langkawi cable car which is an excellent attraction. I will post some photos later.

And yes in case any of you are the slightest bit concerned I nailed about half a dozen jobs of my list and am currently winning the war.
