Hello everyone..

Thought you would all like to know Quartermoon finally has a new mast and she looks sweet!
It's been a busy week working non-stop getting it ready, lots of drilling, rivetting the 2 mast sections together and tracks, running cables, halyards, fitting the mast collar and mast base but we finally got there.

12:15pm Thursday 17th March our new mast is launched ( 2 days short of her 5 month mastless anniversary!)
Who would have thought it would have ever taken that long and it certainly has pushed both of us to our limits at times and has showed us just how little patience we used to have!. I hate to think how long it would have taken if we were stuck somewhere else in the Pacific.

We still have quite a lot more to do. The wire for the rigging needs to be measured and cut and the boom and furler fixed, then we can finally go sailing and try her out (hopefully mid next week). Luckily Georges (rigger) has offerred us an old mainsail to get us back to Oz and we still have a second headsail. We will order sails as soon as we get to Australia along with all the other bits and bobs as its either to hard or too expensive to sort here.

Everyone keeps asking us for an ETA and as yet we are still unsure. We just love it here now so we think we may stay and take up residency.....ha ha ..only joking!!
It all depends on how long it takes to finish and then waiting for a weather window but we hope to set sail by the beginning of April but who knows.....
