Hello Everyone!
Sadly our time in Bora Bora has come to an end;
easily our favorite out of the Society Islands, even with all the poncey
resorts!
We won't bore you with the details on the myriad of
colours on this lagoon, needless to say it's a pretty special place to scrub the
hull ;-)
We did have one very interesting moment when we
"nudged a sandbar" (ran aground) but luckily in pure sand. We managed to get the
sail out and with the help of the super dinghy, sail off back into deeper
water. The chart said it was 4m and back in
the 60's it probably was.... Teach us to be cocky and avoid the main
channel!
So now we are off to Palmerston Atoll about 650 nm
away. (Unless the wind decides otherwise then we have Atitaki and Niue as
backups). Should be interesting as it was colonised by an Englishman with a
few wives many years ago - be interesting to see how many fingers/eyes they
have....
Right have to go cast off the
lines!...
