Morning! Or G'Day or Goodnight depending on where
you are.....
We are currently en route for Tahiti after getting
a surprise e-mail from Akio who arrives on Saturday for all of 4 days!
Loon... After several squalls at Fakarava of 35 knots, we now have almost no
wind so are motor sailing the next 120nm's to Papeete. Nice and quiet,
not....
We had a great few last days at Tetamanu,
Fakarava's South pass before heading off. We caught up with friends from African
Innovation a few times for beach fires / BBQ and the odd night of rum and
cards - oh and we got 3 more dives in. Still gob smacked by the number of
sharks and if you hold your breath how inquisitive they are!
We ended up paddling / swimming or hitching a lift
most places as the dinghy outboard has gone from bad to worse - good job there
is a dock in Papeete where hopefully we'll get it fixed. We heard that some
boats had bigger problems a bit North of us. They ended quite badly
holed up on the reef during one of the squalls - my
worst nightmare these days.....
So that's about it, next stop Tahiti where we will
be checking out the beach break at Teahupoo (no way in hell am I attempting the
reef break!) and getting some much needed fresh water and the first fresh
veg since Galapagos!
