We made it out of Panama city and really feel now that we are on our way.
It feel so exciting and really makes all the stress and hard work feel
like its worth while. We haven’t stopped since Mum and Dad left. Spending
long days preparing the boat, taxi-ing around Panama city picking up
supplies. such as charts, Gas BBQ ( Well worth investment),fishing gear,
more food and booze and the most important of all a Solar Panel. We had 2
onboard when we bought the boat but neither were giving any power so we
decided to bin them and buy a new one. So fingers crossed it will provide
us with enough power to run our fridge and nav lights or GPS.

It took us over 3 hours to fuel and water up at Flamenco Marina. We now
have full tanks (230 lites) and another 220 litres of diesel, fuel in jerry
cans., 5 propane tanks, 50 litres of petrol and about 300 litres of water,
a case of Rum, a case of Tanquerry Gin ( $10.00 a bottle …why not? ) , 3
cases of I litre Clos ( Carton wine at $2.00 a carton …why not? ), 12
cases of beer and so on …….We were so amazed that QM still managed to sail
like a wee rocket ship today in 10 knots of wind.
Decided to visit Taboga again, a very pretty and quaint liitle island off
Panama city and then headed straight out to Las Perlas to an island called
Contadora.

Planning to head off this avro for Galapagos. The weather is a bit all
over the place and what the GRIBS are telling us seem to be understating
the wind so we could sit here for ages waiting for the right time to leave
or just get on with it and deal with it.

All jobs are done, we were both up the mast yesterday putting noodles on
the spreaders to protect the sails. If either of us can conceive now it
will be a miracle. We must have bought the most uncomfortable climbing
harness in the world.

I have written a more detailed blog but it has got stuck on mikes Mac
which is refusing to start up :-( . Will post when Mac decides to behave
itself again.

So about 942 miles ahead of us until our next landfall...wish us Luck :-)
