Planète Rouge II

We are over busy and few time to spend on internet, now Martine is in Canada, I'm alone and so much to be done, I'm working through the essential tasks. The wheather here is hot (32°C) and I loose water and weight (7kg in 2 months). I have purchased a new dinghy semi-rigid polyester hull and a 6HP motor, also a new third anchor of 40 kg (called "ancre de misericorde"), both will lie on the deck.
All my battery park is out of use. Some batteries were heating so I have them checked by a marine electricity specialist of Monaco Marine shipyard and with its testing machine he declare 5 out of the 6 batteries failed. They are liquid electolyte type (classical type) and it seems that a lack of water and repeated deep discharges are faulty. Now I order 6x140 Ah Mastervolt gel battery wich is tremendously expensive (675 € each), they came from Netherland, arrived Friday afternoon and will be mounted Monday at 08:00, in the same time my insurance asks for inspection of the rigging by a professional and I have some difficulties to find the specialist who accepts liability for that, this must also be done Monday. Conclusion we cant't leave on Monday.
More, the wheather forecast are awful for Monday with 35 to 40 kts on large part of Lion gulf decreasing Thuesday. So departure is pushed to Thuesday 20/09. Normally we will be in time even if we have to skip the Menorca stopover.
In case of missing communications we will assume that the default meeting place is the capitanery of Marina Benalmadena on the 27th 23:00 to noon or more.
See you all soon,
Daniel
