We have safely arrived into Tahiti. The last 24hours were relatively easy going. We had to motor most of the way through the night and into this morning as its been very calm. This made for perfect conditions coming into the pass this morning. We are now anchored in the south west - as close as we could get to Teahupoo (the famous surf spot) whilst still being sensible. So we are anchored up under some beautifuly jungle mountains with a few houses around and 5 or so other boats in the achorage.

There is an aquaculture research facility right here where one of my ex students (Mahana) works so we are looking forward to catching up with her and getting a tour. Maybe tomorrow. We will also catch up with Marge (another ex student and cousin to Mahaha) for the heiva festival in a few days. It will be great to hear about what they have been up to since I last saw them.

We have both been pretty tired so have been taking it easy since our arrival. We will head ashore soon for some exploring.

Plan is to move around to Papetee once this next bit of weather clears - maybe Thursday/Friday. For now we are well tucked away from the wind that is forecast.
