COG: 266 speed 4knts, wind less than 5knts, seas still a bit confused and lumpy, engine on. Society islands time 4.30pm

Despite the slow afternoon we have had some good sailing over the last 24hrs. We managed to get a bit of wind through the night which lasted until about lunch time. Unfortunatley it then dropped off and we are back to motoring. The engine is doing well and we are reguarly monitoring how much fuel we have. Looks like it will be light winds for the trip to Niue as well.

All being well we should get to Palmerton tomorrow morning. We are both looking forward to a full nights sleep when we get there. We dont plan to stay for too long, maybe 2/3 days before heading onto Niue. We are both looking forward to Tonga, knowing that the next stop after that will be NZ!!! But we are also excited about Niue as well :)

So not much has been happening with us. No more fish, but the tuna is still keeping us busy - Nick made a delicious poisson cru which we had for dinner and lunch today. The meals I prepared in BoraBora have also been seeing us through. We saw a pilot whale briefly last night just before it got dark, but it didnt stick around for very long. I sometimes wonder how many sightings we miss when we have our heads in our books/monopoly deal/etc. I introduced Nick to 'slam' yesterday - a boarding school favorite fast paced card game. It all got quite exciting but maybe it was all a bit much for him i think as he doesnt want to play again haha
