COG 226, wind speed 9knts SSW, boat speed 5knts (motor sailing up wind) local time 5.50pm (on the 13th Nov - Happy Birthday Kirsten!!!!!)

So we are steadily making our way.... its slow going and we have been punching into the swell a fair bit. We managed some up wind sailing for a few hours before it dropped off again. We are trying to make as much speed as possible to try and avoid some strong winds which are forecasted for the weekend. If we can sneak in before them it would be amazing....

Not much news from us on the boat today. We had a reasonably easy night and the odd small squall this morning. Everyone is well - getting into movies, books and our boat tournament games. So far we have Ryan as the connect 4 champion, Ben the monopoly deal hero, Denise the tetris master and we havent quite figured out what Nick is good at yet..... haha - but as its his birthday tomorrow we might all have to go easy on him.

Its getting colder and we are all busting out our layers and knits, the boys have matching knitted jumpers - a total coincidence but very funny. I wore socks for the first time in about a year last night - Im not ready to commit to shoes yet.

General chat on board today has been fishing (of course) but I did walk in on a conversation about how exactly NIck should 'eat his hat'. Ryan with a flying fish in hand promised that he would land a big fish if he put it on the line, Nick said he would eat his hat if he caught anything. Still no fish on the line but we have come to the conclusion that a hat baked with guacamole would be the first choice - maybe a hat smoothie would work too - but we are open to ideas :)

Anyway enough rambles. Hope this email finds you well.
