Hi All,

Experiencing the light variable blues, wind has been 5-10 out of the East (mostly) for us all day. Sounds like some of the boats ahead are experiencing some squally weather so I think we will alter course to make more west and less south. I have been told that the squally weather is the product of a stationary front running east - west so maybe making north or south is a good idea.

We saw a ship today! Strange encounter indeed as we received no answer to our VHF calls, could see no one one deck and noticed that the ships radar was not active. They crossed our bows about 500m off and continued to the NE. Denise believes it was a ghost ship and I'm inclined to agree.

No fish lately EXCEPT FOR THE 200+ Lb STRIPED MARLIN that we wrestled to the boat as the sun was setting last night. An epic battle indeed and I managed to retrieve all of my gear except for the delicious pink plastic lure that was rewarded to the brave beast.

A real highlight today was using some of the min we get on the sat phone to talk to family. Amazing to hear voices that aren't ours. Wonderful to get news from home and the ones we love.
