First fishing lure gone....

We have had the line out for most of the day but the reel (left over from my last Atlantic crossing) no longer has the ratchet function working on it. We attached some white tape to the line with the idea that someone might see it go (as an alternative to hearing the scream of the line when it is working properly) but, inevitably, we were eating supper when something struck….the whole line went out (and fortunately did not break), but after the excitement of our first potential catch we found that the lure was simply taken off the end. The Cape Verde stop-over may give us the opportunity to get replenishments!
