We have around 120nm to go to Lanzarote with 585nm on the log since Gib. Still sailing in around 25 knots with a big following sea built up over the last 48 hours. We have just about pinned down all of the rattles and banging around in lockers that come with these conditions and are preparing for a sundowner and last evening meal on this leg of the trip. Alex and Ben are sleeping prior to their watch and no doubt preparing themselves to eat a life preserving meal to keep them going until snack time (around 3 hours later!). Tash has kindly just peeled the spuds and I am trying to cover up the fact that I did not pull the evening meal out of the freezer early enough….could be an incident brewing!

We are back to spotting and avoiding shipping which has an annoying habit of wanting to go exactly where we are heading and generally being a nuisance. We were buzzed by a very large yacht which was on passage to Las Palmas earlier in the afternoon. She seemed intent on coming close enough to say hi - and preventing us from making a planned gybe for about 2 hours…..Ben was convinced that is was a mate that he and Alex met with Flying Fish who is apparently on a large yacht also heading across the Atlantic. Sadly, this turned out not to be the case - they were just in the way.
