Whitby to Scarborough

Another calm day with little wind and on the nose, so motor sailed the whole way. We saw the odd seal and dodged the lobster pots as we crept along the shoreline, there being quite a heat haze. Today was probably the hottest since I started this adventure.

A very tight berth with barely room for fenders each side, but friendly neighbouring yacht crew led us to try out the beer at the local yacht club, located on the first floor of a lighthouse. All very friendly including the crew of a Sadler 34, based here.

There were hordes of people, it being a bank holiday weekend - what a change from the remoteness of places further north - know which I prefer! Supper on board followed by a game or 2 of backgammon.
