No Room in the Inn

After a sumptuous meal in Arbroath, thanks to my new crew member, we set off when the sill was lowered at 1140, bound for North Berwick. We enjoyed a fast beam reach, registering over 8 knots for much of the passage, then reefed once and twice as the wind backed and turned our sail into a beat with up to 25 knots of wind. We were turned away from North Berwick before we reached there. We were told that no berthing was available so ploughed on to Dunbar, with a small entrance through cliffs into a tiny harbour where we moored up against the wall amongst fishing boats. A seal came to greet us while nesting seagulls on the cliffs above (very close) continue to make one helluva din.

Sadly Clare leaves us tomorrow by train.
