Moved on after difficult night

Harbour wall overnight was welcome after yesterday’s sail, but the mooring kept me awake for much of the night as the yacht swung around against the wall. No damage was done but we were glad to move on, despite saying farewell to Clare, who left to return home, meeting the Scottish rugby XV at Edinburgh airport, as reported.

A southerly F5-7 hit us as predicted although gusts of 36 knots forced us inshore to be in the lee of the shore. Some of the seas faced were unpleasant, though Peter slept for half of the trip, clearly tired from his first day’s sail on a small yacht (Carango is a gin palace by comparison with Gemini)!

We departed at very low tide, having to wait 30 minutes until we had 0.2 metres under the keel, and arrived in Eyemouth at 1525 with 3 reefs in the sails.
