At last I left Caernarfon

After too many days in Caernarfon owing to strong winds, Gemini headed for the south of the Isle of Man. With my heart in my mouth I approached the Swellies, hitting slack water bang on time and slipped through as if all the stories I had heard of the tidal race did not exist. Then round the corner through the gap between Puffin Island, I set sail with 2 reefs heading to The IOM. It was quite rough and windy, but after 14 hours I reached Douglas, having been headed by strong tides nearing the SW tip of the IOM. I was knackered on entering the marina and had a very sore knee.
