It was time to see more of New Zealand. We briefly discussed sailing down to Fiordland in South Island. It is a difficult passage down the west coast, very few ports of refuge and anchoring in the deep fiords, with funnelling wind gusts made for an easy decision. It's a wild and windy place, and Stewart Island/ Fourneaux Strait is not to be trifled with.

So, wWe booked our flights to Queenstown, a 'Jucy' camper and two nights aboard 'Fiordland Navigator for the end of March.
