Yesterday (Tues 10 March) we finally completed our crossing of the Tasman Sea ('the Ditch') with a typical 30 kt wind as we hove into Tasman Bay after 12 days from Eden, Australia. We're now resting up and giving the engine some attention as we sail gently in flat seas and light winds, surrounded by mountains and in sight of weather fronts coming over the mountain ranges.

Tomorrow (Thu) we hope that the SE gale in Cook Strait will have abated and we can round Stephens Island and head up Queen Charlotte Sound into Picton to formally clear in to New Zealand.
