We left Raiatea at 07:00 this morning and had to motor for about an hour before we cleared it’s wind shadow, but then we came into quite brisk 20kn SE winds.
Since we were going downwind we could carry full mainsail and full genoa and we were flying along at over 8 knots.
The sea was still a bit disorganized because of the heavy winds over the previous few days and the swell was over 3 meters.
The wind reduced slightly during the day and we have been making good progress.
As nightfall approaches the sea is still quite lumpy, hopefully it will decline some more over night.
