A very relaxed day today. No chores this morning but we
are all very excited about arriving in Cape Verde tomorrow - hoping to get there
at midday assuming we maintain a minimum speed of 6.5kt.
We're trying to eat up some of our more perishable foods
so it might be a repeat of Stuart's delicious creamy chicken with some
potatoes, carrots, and bacon for dinner.
Beyond dinner, we've been plotting what we want to do
when we arrive. First thing will be to play with the charts and see if we can
get both North Africa and the Caribbean on the system at the same time. Our
lives will be made much much easier if we can also find a berth, as we are not
an official ARC Plus boat this might be a bit of a challenge so we are
prepared to pump up the tender and go ashore as a raiding party in spite of it
being a faff.
The Autopilot continued to play up in what turned out to be quite a busy
evening with lots of communication errors and two thermal shutdowns of
the ECU due to overheating which meant we had to hand steer for some time before
it cooled down.
But in very good news, we re-calibrated the autopilot using the "Other"
setting and limiting the drive current to 10 amps and George worked perfectly
the whole night!
All in all, we're trundling along and looking forward to
getting in contact when we arrive!
