Dear Family and Friends,
24th May 2015
We have reached the outer atolls of the Tuamotus, but you wouldn’t know it.
These low lying coral reefs around old volcanoes now below the water, give
nothing away until you are really close to them. Indeed we may not see them at
all as we make our passage between them tonight. The highest is around 20’ above
sea level, much of the rest 5-6’ at the most, so hard to spot from a distance.
Our commitments mean we must miss these for the time being.
We have a berth booked at Marina Taina, Papeete. We will be taking apart
all the bits that need repair back to the UK, cleaning and putting the boat in
order for our absence. It is nearly 3 months since we stayed in a marina so some
maintenance is now overdue. So it will be very busy when we make landfall and
the days will just fly until we fly!
Looking forward immensely to being home.
All our best, Lynne and Alan |
