The other project
The tented accommodation we stayed in at the Eco Resort in Prae. Spent most evenings and nights relaxing here with a cold Chaeng
(That’s a beer, to those that don’t know) while the rest of the
family snacked on food (each to there own, I guess!). Great jungle sounds and a lovely breeze at night with the tent flaps up
(Not sure the local beasties appreciated noises coming from the tent though). A view looking up at the tented accommodation and the two wooden
bungalows. (Just the right hike after a visit to the restaurant). The food at the restaurant was excellent and plentiful. The beer was
cold and never ran out. And everything thing was served with a smile. Good
times. A night out with the girls. (Yes, it is a river we are sitting in.
Where else do you meet up for a night out in the bush?) The pontoons on the river bank were for eating at or for fishing (Not
sure they would take the weight of the odd large “Farang” like my
self). I believe they have been removed now. The white elephant, as Alan calls it. Not the eye sore it used to be. A quick stop at a “jungle tap” on our journey over the
mountains. Un pointing out to the kids a lovely jungle flower to try and get them
out the truck. Quite a different reaction from her when she turned around and spotted
one of the local inhabitants near her (A pity we can’t post video
footage!). Needless to say she and her sister ended up in the truck with the
kids. The lovely flower was no longer an attraction! We had a great holiday up North and a lot of thanks should go to Nut,
his family and the staff at the resort for making us welcome and stuffing us with
great food (and beer). We’ll be back. |
