2980 miles to go - doesn't sound so much when you
say it like that
Great sailing from 07:00 yesterday until 19:00 then
the wind died and motoring ever since.
We had dolphins following us last night. No moon
and great phosphorescence in the water, so much so that we could see the entire
outline of the dolphins, almost like looking at a negative. We could also see
them from a longer distance than we would during the day so we had some idea
what they get up to when they disappear for short periods when mucking about
with boats. Fantastic, almost makes up for not having any wind!! I tried to take
a photo which didn’t come out and tried a video which didn’t come out either. So
there.
The doldrums are extremely far south for this time
of year and we are using a lot of fuel for being so early in the trip. 40 hours
motoring so far and we have barely left Galapagos.
Changed the lure on the fishing line but nothing
again for 24 hours.
No fish and no wind, have to make it up with a
couple of cold ones.
