Position at 13:00 GMT / UTC 157 miles completed since last posting 2977 miles completed in total 264 miles to go - Running out of cold ones Should get to Fatu Hiva tomorrow night which isn't
good so may slow down either tonight or lay a hull tomorrow evening. The
anchorage should be simple enough for a night entrance but we want to see the
island. Nothing else going on today, spinnaker has been up all day.
I was giving Noi a hard time about what did she
have planned for Easter, just teasing really seeing as we have never ever done
anything for Easter except eat loads of chocolate. Anyway she puts together
fried sweet banana pancakes for breakfast and then for dinner last night she
lays out fillet steak with black mushroom sauce with roast potatoes covered with
cheese and fresh carrots as a veg. Amazing after 20 days at sea and the boat
rolling like a pig in mud. M&M’s for desert instead of an Easter Egg. Oh and
a couple of beers with dinner!
We were putting the spinnaker away last night at
dusk and I watched a flying fish fly about 2” over the top of Noi’s head, just
as well she is vertically challenged otherwise she would have caught a fish to
the coupon and flying fish are particularly odorous. It must have been a school
of them as we also had half a dozen land in the cockpit at the same
time. |
