Looking across Elizabeth Harbour, from the highest point on Elizabeth Island. The light blue water is only about one foot deep and stretches out about half a mile. The water is bath temperature, the sand having been heated up by the sun before the tide came in.

I think that Bev is enjoying her retirement.

Elizabeth Island and Harbour

.
Closer view of The Flying Fish Marina. It only has room for fifteen boats and at £1 per night per FOOT; we prefer to anchor. We spoke to the proprietor who is putting up his prices to $2 per foot in line with most other marinas out here. That works out at £60 per night for Swiftwing. The pension wouldn't last long at that!

Monument to Columbus at, 'Cape Santa Maria', at the North  end of Long Island next to our anchorage in Calabash Bay. Columbus had run out of saints by now and named  places after his ships. He  is reputed to have looked out from this spot. Cliffs are very soft sandstone.
The northern spit at Calabash Bay, Long Island.

A nasty coral head at low tide. There is 0.9 of a meter between LAT and MHWS. This is one we had to avoid when entering Calabash Bay. They are not marked on the charts and require "Eyeball Navigation" according to the pilot books.
Anchorages should be entered in daylight, preferably with the sun high.

We tried to walk to the Columbus Monument but the undergrowth was too thick just up from the beach. We spent the afternoon at the beach which we had to ourselves.

The channel or 'Strand' between Stocking Island to the left and Elizabeth Island to the right. Great Exuma Island is one mile behind us.

That's the first house we've seen in days and it is on ,'Man Of War Cay' Great Exuma Island.

Bev says that these are yellow flowers of the Freesia variety..

Couldn't find any old Land Rovers for Allan so the church busses will have to do.
