We continue to make good progress on our rhumb line to St. Lucia running directly downwind with twin headsails poled out. This is however a very rolly point of sail with the big Atlantic swells occasionaly slewing us sideways dipping both gunwales under. The double berth in the rear stateroom becomes of little use for sleeping with Bev and I duvet surfing up and down the bed. As a result we have taken to putting a matress in the passageway between the main cabin and the stateroom and sleeping on the floor, being firmly held in place by the bulkheads either side. It's actually very comfortable.
Phoned mam and dad on the sat-phone today to wish dad a happy birthday. Bev also phoned home to check in.
There's not much to report at the moment, we have all settled into our boat routine of doing  watches, getting as much sleep as possible, reading our books ( thanks Jim,- now onto Tristan Jones' second book) and doing the daily chores besides splicing another few parachutes onto the series drogue. Neil continues to prance about the after-deck trying to catch a fish with his various killer muppets which have so far failed to land a fish. I think we are onto 'terminator 15'  We received an e-mail from another boat that we befriended at Cork, 'Bootlegger' and besides being two days ahead of us they have caught a fish. This has been wrankling the crew of the stern trawler 'Swiftwing' who are all more used to the fish coming aboard by the ton on each lift. Ah well, at least we don't have to spend hours gutting on deck.
Cuisine continues to be of a high standard with all meals being consumed in the cockpit. It's very warm now with shorts and 'T' shirt the norm even on the night watches. Had a nightmare last night, I dreamt that I was back as a detective constable in the middle of an enquiry-woke up in a sweat. Better go now as the 'Fishing supplement' is about to be added
by 'Wolf Reid' the famous whaler skipper. Thinking of you guys on GP1. I'll give you a phone when we get to St. Lucia.
