 We visted an old sugar cane plantation called
Betty's Hope. It is still owned by the same English family who had it in the
days of slavery but they now live back in England. The windmills drove
the crushing plant that squeezed the juice out of the cane.
 The crushing plant with Bev standing beside it for
scale.The juice fell into a big tank below and was then pumped to the factory
where it was made into sugar and the byproduct made into rum.
 Another view of the windmill with the tiller at the
back to steer it into the prevailing Trade Winds which blow between a NE
and SE direction.
There were 161 windmills on Antigua.
 The factory was converted to steam in the 1850's.
This boiler is the original. Will and I put this one on as a mark of
respect to Fred Dibnah of whom we are both fans.
 Devils Bridge to the north of Nonsuch Bay on the
east side of the island and open to the Atlantic.
 This is the Kingdom of Redonda's naval ship. The
King drives about Antigua with a crown on the top of his old Mazda.
