INTO THE LAGOON

After a week's worth of heavy swells in the Simpson Bay Lagoon, yesterday we decided to get some reasonable shut-eye and move inside the Lagoon.  The Lagoon is now filling up with boats coming to watch/participate in the Heineken Regatta.  The weather has not moderated much, so we guess that the Regatta will be a windy affair also.  It takes place over the 6 - 9 March and it looks as though we will be here for the duration.

Inside the Lagoon is certainly calmer, but with the Island reaping the benefits of mega yachts coming in (see pictures) it's not a cheap affair.  You can only enter at certain times of the day as there's a bridge that has to be opened.  If you've a spare £500, they will open it outside these three times!

Repair day today and a bit of shopping.  We dinghied over to the French side yesterday, just for a quick look-see, but now we are in the Lagoon, it means that we'll get more time to look around.
