WE'RE NOT IN THE WATER YET

Well, we've moved out of the air-conditioned flat onto the boat. Still on
the hard however with various stuff still awaiting being dealt with. The
boat yard and we're now scheduled to go into the water next Wednesday. Dock
C here (the nice calm one) is full already with boats here for the Carnival
- in February next year! Two days ago (coinciding with high tides) a really
pretty Tayana pranged herself big time on the B dock - she'd not put on any
springs and they walloped their sugarscoop an almighty thump. We're not too
sure how good they are at this game, as they now seems to be returning to
the US and giving loads of stuff away. The damage will take some time to
repair, I'm sure.

The other big news is that a group of thieves have been caught - stuff
disappearing has been engines and dinghies and the police yesterday
apprehended some guys with stuff - now all they have to do it reconcile it
with the owners (thought they may still need to hang on to stuff as
"evidence"!). Peter and Claire are now on board and the having to travel
across the bay each day.....which brings us to other news: this thieving
business is not limited to dinghies etc. The water taxi which takes people
across the water has been suspended "indefinitely" - the consensus is that
much of the money going as fares went into the pockets of the drivers -
means that those on shore and who don't have their dinghies in the water
can't easily move around the bay. It will be a major inconvenience for all
until they resolve the situation.....that was the news in Chag Bay for
today!
