The team was an international one; Aussies, English, West Indies, the occasional Scot and the Sunday cricket spectators.  The pitch was less than perfect; a touch of sand showing through here and there, on a slight incline, with a very wet outfield - but the sun was shining and the beer had helped soothe international relations a lot (and the Yanks, with their boogey band had gone home - they wouldn't understand anyway!).  It was a perfect day in Paradise.
