Captain Coconut (Mark Sinclair) aboard his Lello 34 sloop arrived a couple of days ago and is berthed opposite Katy. He has just sadly retired from the 2022 Golden Globe Race. This is a non stop solo race around the world starting and finishing in Les Sables-d'Olonne in France. He was always planning to stop in Cape Town anyway in order to attend his son's wedding but with adverse winds across Biscay his timing to Lanzarote is a week behind schedule and he will never make Cape Town in time. He will probably now sail back to Australia via the Panama canal but will decide after the wedding. Plenty of time yet.
