Barbate

Escapade

We set sail to glorious sunshine and 20/25 knots 'up the chuffer' as J would say. We sat with legs over the side watching the Dolphins just under staysail, wind increased to 45 knots and we have rough breaking waves. We reduced canvas to next to nothing and still managed 12.5knots down the waves.

What can we say about Barbate? 36:11.03N 005:55.58W. Bit of a ghost town really, the recession has hit hard, only one other visiting yacht and not much to do, all pretty basic. James has carried out a few yacht repairs today whilst I did a bit of housewife duties and read in the sunshine. Conditions looking better for tomorrow so we will head off for Puerto Santo.
