Well, we seemed to have left the horrible seas and weather behind us, for a little while at least. This morning dawned bright and Sunny, though it has to be said, it's not exactly tropical, temperature wise.
We had light winds from the North this morning, the right direction but not enough to put any meaningful miles in. So, we whipped the Donkeys (engines) and motor sailed for a good few hours, managing to stay up around the 7 knot mark for long periods. The sea state was also calm which meant life was altogether more pleasant.
No great dramas today either which to be honest made a rather pleasant change. Myself and Andrew are both ploughing through books at a prodigous rate and are hoping that this leg of the trip will now be a pleasant finale to the full trip.
As usual, Andrew excelled on the food front tonight, knocking up a rather nice Chicken casserole with rice. Don't think that I don't do my bit too though, we had Hot Dog sandwiches and crisps for lunch!
As usual I've started to think about returning to normality at the end of the trip. Probably the less said about that the better....
The boat continues to hold up well to its' marathon trips. There are the odd signs of wear and tear, but nothing major to report. Having done the best part of, I would imagine 10 years "normal" sailing in the last 2 years, I'd say it's doing remarkably well.
Tomorrow (well today actually, as it's 4 in the morning now) hopefully the wind will fill in and give us some good "proper" sailing. Strangely enough, I seem to say that rather a lot!
Love to everyone back home
